Reindeer Seasons Greetings

Reindeer Seasons Greetings

Hello Friends;
I have been battling a cold.....5 times over..lol . It started with the kids and moved into the adults in the last couple of weeks.  I can honestly say I don't wanna cough anymore.  To give myself some awesome quiet time I went to my girl cave and created.  This Card will be entered into the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and The Outlawz: Festive Friday Challenge.  I love the diversity of the Sketches Michelle and Brandi produce for AHSC.  Those girls are creative and wonderful!

I used KOI watercolor with the CC Designs Stamp.  The sentiment came from Paper Smooches- they have the cutest fonts and designs too. The sequins were from Doodlebug design and I purchased those eons ago from CC Designs.  Christine Wooden is amazing- she has such a keen eye for awesome design and her stamps are over the top AWESOME!

I am sorry its such a short post today folks but when the kleenex box calls .... a girls gotta listen.

Happy Creating y'all
cheers

Beachy "Thank You"

Beachy "Thank You"

This card was so much fun to do!  I started with this cute stamp set that I purchased from one of my girlfriends.  She created with it years ago and its just too cute to pass up! The girl was stamped then all the add ons; watercolor seems to be my choice of medium lately and this card was no exception.  I traced the add ons with a black marker to ensure that the edges could not be seen by the recipient.

I used Echo Park papers- actually pretty much the same ones that I used on Penelope and Zip Hello card.  Echo Park has rarely made a line that I didn't like.  I usually try and purchase a 12 x 12 or 6x6 but like most crafters.....I have way more than I need....lol .

As seen here I messed up on the cut and far too much time had been invested.  We plan on giving this to my daughters teacher at the end of the year; so really, she will just keep it until she gets home with her gift card treats.  I taped the middle back in and voila- I taped a 33x3 envelope in and a card slips right in.  I believe that a closure will be added when we purchase the gift card to add.

I am not use to doing fancy folds of any kind but i enjoyed doing this and look forward to making more.  It was interesting how you learn as you go and I am absolutely sure this old dog learned a new trick.  Looking forward to many more challenges on Outlawz.  Have a springy kind of day folks!
Cheers,
Tarah

Penelope and Zip Hello

Penelope and Zip Hello

The ladies over at Outlawz have had some great challenges.  I combined the Color Challenge- which had some radiant colors.....
I chose to use a different image rather than elephants.  The images I chose came from C.C. Designs.  Penelope and Zip were purchased years ago so I am unsure if they still have them.  The second challenge i combined it with also came from Outlawz: a sketch challenge.

i can only enter one though because i forgot the "fun fold" stay tuned and i have one coming up with that in mind.  Without further adieu here is my card.

I used stamping up watercolor crayons and H2Os on the main image.  I masked the clouds and used a copic marker to draw the ground.  CC Designs have outdone themselves with this image as it is absolutely cute as can be!  Most of the paper was from Echo Park but i am unsure of the multiple lines they were pulled from.  Instead of using more paper to embellish the turquoise dragonfly was just too sweet not to use.  I used some jewelry tools and lobster claw to make an embellishment someone can use again on their keys, bookbag or somewhere they love💖

I hope your day is sunshiney and bright!
cheers y'all

Loose Glitter Gone Wild!.....Baby Boom

Loose Glitter Gone Wild!.....Baby Boom

I recently joined a group called The Outlawz.....and what a bunch of crafting bandits they are....YEAH HAW they are a fun bunch of gals!   The first challenge that I decided to participate in is called Crash Your Stash and you guessed it- if you have crafted for a million years then Yes siree, you have items from all through the decades.  I loved this one as they want a gal to use loose glitter- (secret: I often use glitter in my shaker cards and lately I cant get enough of those smile inducing cards!)

In our family, two of my cousins have had wee ones as of late.  I haven't even sent a card but lots and lots of facebook love; so i thought it was time to get something in the mail.  (Squeal: who doesn't love snail mail .....really tho?).  When i got started on the layout of the card it was decided to do the same layout but different cards as the had opposite sexes.  Both cards started from mixed media paper i made one day when wanting to created but had nothing that inspired me ....they turned out so beautiful.  I used a stamp set I recently purchased on WISH and lots of foam tape and voila!!! basics are covered.  One was coloured with Copics and the other was watercolored using Tim Holtz Distress Markers.

Card 1: Copic Coloring

card 2: Distress Markers and lots of loose glitter

I try and always finish the inside and envelope to match my cards.  I think it gives them something special and unique that not every one does.  Hope you get your loose glitter out and find something to glitter-ify.  Happy Spring!
Cheers Y'all

Prince and Princess "Best Wishes"

Prince and Princess "Best Wishes"

This card is one of three I created today.  It all began watching a Amy R and KWerner video....well needless to say shaker cards came to pass.  I understand the obsession once a gal gets started. Honestly, how does one stop once they get going.  I used inspiration from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  This week we are on number 313.  and guess what??????  I got top 3 for sketch 312.....and when i figure out how to add widgets and gidgets then i will proudly wear the badge...until then its a definite work in progress..........  Here is sketch NO. 313

This shaker card was created on watercolor paper from Michaels.  I got 3 packages of paper for 20 dollars and this paper is absolutely wonderful to paint on.  I used Penny Black stamps that I have had for years and for the life of me cannot remember where on earth i purchased them.  They have a super cute line whatever they create though.  I used a combination of H2o's, Stamping Up and ink pads to get the desired effect.  I recently joined another crafting group called the outlawz and they have a present challenge using old product: this round was to use loose glitter and quite often i use that as the "shaker" part of the card.  Today I also used some flock....it was an interesting touch as it wants to fly inside the shaker.

Using black sparkle embossing powder the sentiment "best wishes" was added and the card was complete.  I added a sentiment to the inside and the same one to the 6 x 6 envelope.  I hope this inspires someone to dust off your stamps and get playing again.  Its simply too much fun to give up:) cheers y'all

Sunflower Delight “Just for You”

Hello spring-eeee peeps,

The weather we have been having is wonderful.... at least in my mind... lol.  And I was yearning for the sun which helped me decide  to make a sunshine yellow card.  I am following and participating in the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge  Here is the Sketch and I love participating with this group of awesome crafters.
The card that I created started off as something else all together; however, I am way more pleased with this final result then the original- which is always a wonderful surprise🤗 I used Close to my heart stamps which needed to be dusted off and some of my older dies from Spellbinders. In the end, this shaker card is meant to be hand delivered to the recipient.  I adore the glitter and bling .... just because🥰. Have a super awesome Spring day and I hope you all have a fantastic Easter with your family and friends.  🐰 🐣 🥚

Happy Crafting y’all
Cheers 🥂

Baby I’m back

Well after divorce, going back to school, moving my daughter and a couple of times it has been finally discovered that ..... I missed crafting and have found a wonderfully supportive man and it’s time to start crafting again.  Recently I discovered Cat Hands and her many mixed media morsels  I needed to explore crafting again.  Here is what my nine year old and I did for our first page...

I am so proud of her creations and she loves to think outside the box... boundaries are difficult sometimes even I agree 🤪. Mine looks more like I just started crafting again after years of having a break... lol.  I am happy to say however that I was able to jump back into Atlantic Sketch Challengehttp://atlanticheartschallenge.blogspot.com/?m=1. If you get a chance come and play along - it’s a great bunch of peeps who genuinely love to craft🥰.  I also decided to enter Tursday Throwdown challenge- another crafty and fun place to be😘

I started my card with versamark black stamping so I could heat emboss the background.

The main images were older stamps I have acquired and I adore Piper’s Suprise. She is just the cutest fairy 🧚🏼‍♀️ I have seen. I purchased her at CC Designs.  I coloured Piper in comics and then paper pieced the box. I used the same blue watercolour to do the background of Piper too.

Opps didn’t mean to capture my pants too lol
After using some doodlebug sequins and some strong to bring the challenge together this is the final product.  I love finishing my cards and envelopes so I did those up too. Who doesn’t love happy mail that is extremely happy?
